The objectives for the Laboratory portion of this course is derived from AP Chemistry book under Guide for the Recommended Laboratory Program. [Click here for copy of file] These objectives are separated out into General Lab Objectives vs. Lab Specific Objectives as stated below.

General Lab Objectives

Student should be able:

G1.
G2.
G3.

Lab Specific Objectives

There are 22 suggested laboratories (click here for specific, 22 Suggested Labs) that the AP chemistry exam will cover.
For each lab, the student should be able to:

S1. Explain the set-up and procedures to complete the lab including drawing any diagrams/apparatus needed. Outline form and non-complete sentence are allowed as long as it does not take away from the explanation.

S2. Be able to explain and perform mathematical calculations with respect to the lab or associated problems or questions.

S3. Remember any fact that AP deems relevant in the lab (i.e. colors of solution, smells of gases, etc).

The AP has placed great emphasis on laboratory experiences to the point where one of the mandatory question on the AP Chemistry Exam is explaining the set-up, math procedures for one of the 22 suggested labs.
