Answer: (84g/132g) x 100% = 63.6% = 64%

Percent Impurity = (Mass of impure substance / Mass of total sample) x 100%

Example

What is the percent impurity of a sample of 210g silver if the mass of pure silver is 43g?

Answer: 210g-43g =167g of impure substance (167g/210g) x 100% = 79.5 = 80%
