1) Explain the difference between Medeleev and Moseley's Periodic Table.

Electron Configuration


1) Know the 3 rules of filling in electron in subenergy / orbital including name and what it means (Aufbau Principle, Hund'sRule, and Pauli Exclusion Principle)


2) Using your list of subenergy from closest (lowest energy level) to farthest away, determine the correct electron configuration for any element. Should be able to do this with just the Periodic Table.


3) Be able to determine the number and types of all the valence electrons for "s and p" block elements.


Isotopes, Atomic Number, Mass Number and Atomic Mass


4) Define isotope and write (and explain) the three symbolic representation of isotope.


5) Define atomic number and find it on a Periodic Table.


6) Define Mass Number and be able to calculate the correct number of each subatomic particle of an isotope knowing the Atomic Number and Mass Number.


7) Define atomic mass and be able to calculate atomic mass.
