*Topic 2.1 Types of Chemical Bonds 
**Electronegativity differences between two atoms influence how valence electrons are being dealt with between the two atoms
 
*Topic 2.2 Intramolecular Forces and Potential Energy 
**Especially look at Interatom distance and Potential energy graph to explain bond length when sharing valence electrons (length where less energy location). Fig 8.3 Pg 342
 
*Topic 2.3 Structures of Ionic Solids 
**Need to Coulombic law ( I call it Coulombic force) & Lattice Energy and how it affect bonding and ion properties
**Be able to explain Energy Effects in Binary Ionic Compounds (I believe it use to be called <nowiki>Born-Harber</nowiki> Cycle) Fig 8.11, Pg356
 
*Topic 2.4 Structure of Metals and Alloys 
**Explain how valence electron are being dealt with between atoms ("sea of free flowing valence electrons or "delocalized" electrons)
**Section 10.4 in book but not Bragg Equation
