5/13/05
-Copper(II) sulfate CuSO4*5H20.
-I made a 0.10M solution of copper(II) sulfate. To do this I found the molar mass of copper(II) sulfate. Then i was able to find the number of moles needed in the solution with the molarity and the volume. With the moles and the molar mass I could find the exact grams needed to make a 0.10M solution. I then measures out the solid copper(II) sufate and dissolved it the the DI water.
Copper(II) sulfate calculations

5/16/05
-Percipitation Lab-
-Today we took all the solutions we made last class and did the experiment. We mixed each solution with every other solution recording what happened for every combination.

5/18/05
-pH webpage-
-Today I put the pH of a weak acid calculations on to the website. We all had a mathematical procedure that we had to make a webpage for. They will serve as references to other students. It included a small paragraph, steps for finding the pH, an example that is done out and another parctice problem that the student can do.
pH calculations of weak acid

5/24/05
-Hollow Penny Lab-
-Today we all chose our own labs to do. I chose the Hollow Penny Lab. This was a lab that took a pre and post 1982 penny and compared what happened when they were left overnight in Hydrochloric acid. I had to leave the pennies in over night.

5/25/05
-Hollow Penny Lab-
-Today I finished the hollow penny lab. I took the two pennies that were left overnight in the HCl and put them in water and rinsed them off. Then I made observations on what happened to the pennies and weighed them.
Hollow Penny Lab

5/31/05
-Today we got into groups of two and chose a lab techinque to demonstrate on a video. My group is making a video on how to zero out a balance.
-Zeroing out a balance demonstration

6/1/05
-Today we worked more on the lab demonstration. We made a poster that we will use on the video.
