Here are answers to the Mass Vocabulary Hunt

Note: The following answers violate the 1st rule of defining a word in the English language!!!

1) Matter - Anything that has mass and occupy space

2) Chemistry - Study of matter (you will learn later it is actually movement of electrons)

3) Pure science - science performed to further some aspect/understanding of a science concept/issue/etc

4) Applied science - applying pure science information/results

5) Pure Substance (it is often just called Substance) - ONLY has one type of particle (base unit)


a) Organic chemistry - chemistry of Carbon based compounds

b) Inorganic chemistry - NOT (see above 6 answer)

c) Biochemistry - chemistry relating to living organisms (biology)

d) Physical chemistry - chemistry relating to the physical attributes/characteristics of compounds

e) Analytical chemistry - chemistry related to techniques and procedure of determining properties of chemicals.
