CP Mass Of Substance Knowing Number Of Particles

ChemistryWiki | RecentChanges | Preferences

Substance to be weighed : ________________________, its chemical formula ______________________

Group Number: __________, Group Member Names: ___________________________________

Number of Particles for group to weigh out: __________________________________________

Mass you need to weigh out to obtain above number of particles: ________________________(see calculation work below).

In this lab, you will first calculate the mass you need to weigh out of the given substance to get the number of particles (substance type will determine the actual particle number used in calculation/lab) that is given to you by your teacher.

Then you will actually weigh out the plastic bag and record that value on the bag including information below and then add the calculated mass of the given substance.

Directions:

1. In space below, determine the mass you need to weigh out to get the given number of base particles (use correct particle name).
2. Weigh plastic bag and write on paper and on bag.
3. Write the weight you want to have in bag.
4. Add substance until you get that weight.
5. Seal bag and write name of group, members name and period.
