1. How much heat energy is required to raise the temperature of 375g of water from 35ºC to 56ºC? Give your final answer in kJ.

2. If 500g of water at 70ºC loses 22 kJ of heat (hint-be sure to use proper units), find:

    a. The specific heat of water

    b. The temperature change (delta t)

    c. The final temperature of the water

3. A 125g sample of gold, whose specific heat is 0.129 J/gºC, is warmed from 15ºC to 24ºC. How much heat is transferred during this process?

4. A 150g sample of water at 25ºC is mixed with a 25g sample of water at 65ºC. Assuming no heat is lost to the enviornment, what is the final temperature of the 175g sample of water?
