You will be asked to research a computer software (or web interconnecting) company. The company needs to be on either the New York Stock Exchange or the NASDAQ (i.e. they must be a publicly traded company). For this company, you will be asked to research and report back on 6 items listed below. The report will be 2-3 well written (that means clear,concise and complete sentences, NOT WORDY) paragraphs in a coherent fashion that covers all of the following items with respect to (w.r.t.) your chosen company. (Companies you can not use is Microsoft, Apple, Intel, Cisco, Google, and any other I state in class). You will need to check with me for approval of the company you will research.
Item 1 : Who was the person or person founded the company (and where was it founded) and are they still there/in charge.
Item 2 : What is the current size of the company and where are they located
Item 3 : What does the company do and/or what do they make?
Item 4 : What/how are the primary people/industry that benefits from the company's product.
Item 5 : Is there a specific type of computer program (i.e. a computer language) that is used to produce the company's product.
Item 6 : What types of jobs are available in the company. Include the link to the company's website.
Product (i.e. what you give me to be graded):
- A file (either pdf, Word, or google docs) with the information below
- Emailed to tmcleod@duxbury.k12.ma.us by the due date
- On the subject line of the email, I want your name-Period-Company Name; Subject: Mr.McLeod-P6-Apple
- In the body of the information, you will be using a color scheme to show that you have provided information about the 6 items discussed above. The following are the colors that the information needs to be present in your product and the item it relates to.:
Black - Item 1
Red - Item 2
Orange - Item 3
Yellow - Item 4
Green - Item 5
Blue - Item 6
After the body of the information, you will provide citation (using the APA format) to show where you obtained your information. For simplicity, the citations will be color coded as above (i.e. if you cited a source for Item 2, you would put that citation in Red in the Citation Section). Your citation section should have a title: Citations.
