- Write down correct equation
- Make sure your untis can cencel
- If not, change units so they do. Change units in Step above. Always change single unit parameters into multiple unit parameters not visa versa.
- Plug into equation
- Get "x" by itself
- Use math rules: multiply then must divide on opposite side visa versa, add then must subtract on opposite side and visa versa
- Do all in one step to show "x" by itself on one side of the "=" sign and all parameters including units on opposite side. This should be its own line in calculation. Then you can do math and cancel units on next line.
- Do math and give in correct units, scientific notation and N+1 (one more sig fig than need in answer).
- Give answer in correct number of sig fig, units and scientific notation.
