In this "game", you get into groups of two learners. One learner from one group will get four dice, two that are regular dice (with 1 thru dots on a side) and two that have non-metals on them. After rolling the dice and placing dice in correct order (explained below), you
will write down chemical formula of the molecular compound. Then determine the chemical name from the chemical formula.
So the direction look like:

1. Find in the MC bag, two dices (regular dice) and two dice with non-metal elements on them.
2. Roll the dice.
3. Order the dice left to right as follows: Element dice, regular dice, Element dice, regular dice.
- The first element should always be the lower Electronegative value element. The regular dice number is the subscript for that element (an element dice may already a subscript 2 so can either multiple the regular dice by 2
4. Figure out and write down on paper the correct chemical formula.
5. Figure out the name of this molecular compound.
6. Done and repeat.
For today, you will:
1. Get into groups of 6 (so 4 groups usually).
2. Then separate into 3 pairs.
3. Get 3 pieces of the paper (one pair).
4. Now determine the game format (i.e. one group roll dice, write down information above to see if got correct answer. Get points if yes or no, then everybody else get shot).
5. Write format on paper with group name and members.
6. Write down all work on paper for each game.
7. At end of period, collect all papers and staple together and give to teacher/substitute.
