1. Explain what observation(s) you can use to differentiate the two reactants from each other in this lab.
2. Why did you have to stir the material? How is this counter-intuitive? Explain.
3. Write down all the observations of a chemical reaction you observed in this lab. Explain each one of them using your knowledge of the chemical reaction (and your general chemistry knowledge).
4. Did all the reactants react in the lab or was there some unreacted reactant left after the chemical reaction stopped? How do you know or how do you don't know? Explain.
5. Draw the potential energy diagram for this reaction. Label/show the following:
- Potential energy of the reactant (write chemical symbols of them)
- Potential energy of the product (write chemical symbols of them)
- Graph axes
- Potential energy of the activated complex
- Activation energy
- Heat of reaction and indicate its sign ("+" or "-")
6. If this reaction/lab is done during Chemical Reaction section of the course, write the balanced chemical reaction including phases. Make sure to include the "original" product and then show in a different step how that "original" product become the products that you observed in the chemical reaction.
