Questions On Colligative Properties And Raoult's Law

ChemistryWiki | RecentChanges | Preferences

1. Colligative properties (including Raoult's Law) compare physical properties of what two kinds of substances/material?

2. What main theme can physically explain the Colligative Properties.

3. Vapor pressure can be simply understood as the number of vapor particles in the gas phase. Using this knowledge, explain why a solution's vapor pressure is always lower than the pure solvent's vapor pressure (both having the same solvent).

4. Explain why the same molality of sodium chloride solution and calcium chloride solution would not have the same freezing point depression. In your explanation, state which of the two would have the lower freezing point depression.
