Answer the following questions.

1. Why do "we" call the Bright Line Spectrum of an element, the "fingerprint/DNA" of the element?

2. What does one colored line indicate about what is happening inside the element/atom?

3. For this Bright Line Demo (and if you are doing the Flame Test lab at the same time), what is atom being exposed to that causes the light to be emitted?

4. Is the element/atom changed in any way after the light is emitted from the atom (in other words, after the light is emitted, is the atom the same as what it was before it absorbed energy or has it changed)? Explain.

5. Give me a possible real life use for using a bright line spectrum to determine what elements are in a sample.
