Gases
Broad Concept(MCAS Framework): The behavior of gases can be explained by the Kinetic Molecular Theory.
Essential Question: Do you believe what your senses tell you? (Does the theory support the experimental data)
Core standards for full-year courses. Other standards are not tested on MCAS
Each student will be able to:
- Using the kinetic molecular theory, explain the relationship between pressure and volume (Boyle's law), volume and temperature (Charles' law), and the number of particles in a gas sample (Avogadro's hypothesis). ([Standard 6.1])
- Explain the relationship between temperature and average kinetic energy.([Standard 6.2])
- Be able to calculate Gas Law and Avogadro's Hypothesis problems.(not core standard)
