You will be investigating and learning about gases in a group setting. 2015-2016 Gases is the link to the webpages that explains what you will need to do in the lab, an agenda of tasks to perform, online notes (also book references), You Tube video, examples of work, homework assignments.
All students will have to do Overall Gas Problems and Ideal Gas Law individually. This will be due on the first day that you establish your group.
Once in the group, each person will choose one of the 4 Gas Laws (that includes Avogadro's Hypothesis) to perform the task that are stated in each webpage. In general, these task include doing/recording a Demo, reading the online webpage notes (and if needed use the book reference), and complete the homework for that section.
Product
Each group will develop a Google slide presentation with the following information:
1) For Ideal Gas Law, the whole group will provide the following information
a) Title page with all group members name on it, date.
b) A separate page for the Ideal Gas equation, declare all variable including common units needs
c) A separate page on a set of steps/procedures (how to do these calculations) to following when calculating any gas problem.
d) A separate slide of an actual example of work (one of the problems from the homework assignment). Each person in the group will sign the bottom of this homework page. It will be scanned and uploaded into the Google slide presentation.
2) Each person in the group will provide the following:
a) Title page of name of Law/hypothesis
b) What parameters are varying and which one are constant.
c) A word definition including if the variables are directly or indirectly proportional to each other
d) a separate slide (or more if necessary) explaining how you performed the Demo, results and how the results made you come up with word definition.
e) A separate slide of each of the 4 possible mathematical equation including defining variables.
f) A separate slide of an example of work for a homework assignment (including signing name at bottom of page
3) For the Combined Gas Law, the same information from above is needed but will not have a Demo AND it will be done by whole group (with all group members signing the page of work.
Grading
At a minimum, the Google slide presentation will be graded using your "Working a Group" rubric and the group grade will go into the "lab/project" category in your grades. Further details will be presented later.
Due Date
The day before the Reading Day unless specific differently by the teacher.
