Light (a form of Energy)

In the following discussion, we will be talking about light (a form of energy) but this understanding is also used for particles with similar properties. In our case, the electron (has almost no mass and moving at or near speed of light).

Light
Light as a wave Light as a particle (Max Planck)
Properties: continuous and can't break it up into smaller parts Properties: comes in discrete packages (he called "quanta", basic unit he called "photon", happy now Star Trek geeks)
Analogy: Water (is light/energy) being squirted on You
Comes from a garden hose (as a single stream)
Analogy: Water (is light/energy) being squirted on You
Comes a water balloons (know how much water coming at you by size of balloon)
K 0.8 Ca 1.0
Rb 0.8 Sr 1.0
Cs 0.7 Ba 0.9
Fr 0.7 Ra 0.9
