Strong Acid and Weak Acid Mini-Lab

Directions

1. Obtain a 100ml beaker and add 30ml of a 0.100M HCl solution to it.

2. Using either pH paper, a handheld pH meter or a pH probe (for a computer based pH meter), determine the pH of the solution.

3. Do the same for a 0.100M acetic acid (HC2H3O2 or HAc). Please remember to either rinse with DI water the handheld pH meter & pH probe or use a new piece of pH paper for each solution.

4. Record the pH readings.
