Energy at Home Handout
Plese fill out the following information at your home.
1. Go in the basement and find out what type of fuel that your home heating system uses.
2. How does the energy from the furnace (energy source) gets to the different rooms in your house?
3. How do you (or your mother/father) cook food in your kitchen (besides a microwave)?
4. Place your hand behind your refrigerator, what do you feel? ______________________
5. Quick experiment:
- Get a plastic cup (or glass if you are careful) and fill it with lukewarm water. Put your finger in the water and make an observation.
- Now, dry it off and put your finger into your freezer and leave it in. Right before it starts to hurt take it out and place your finger into the lukewarm water. Make an observation.
