ApchemWiki | RecentChanges | Preferences

This is lab will be part take home and part in class. You will develop a bubble solution in order to make the most bubbles in a given time frame. The actual creation and counting of the bubbles will be performed in class with a common set of "bubble making devices (a 2-4 bubble making wand where each hole is from 1/2 to 1 inch in diameter)".

Take Home portion

The following information is added as part of your lab report:

1. Name of the solution ( only school appropriate names).

2. A detailed list of the components in the bubble solution.

3. A description/explanation of what each component is used for in the solution.

4. Provide an explanation of what bubble actually is.

5. Provide each trial data including material amounts, procedures and actual number of bubble produced.
This is done for every trial until you have your "best solution".

In Class portion

1. Using the "standard bubble making devices" that will be used in the competition, complete trial runs for your "best solution". Provide as additional trial in your lab notebook. If need be, make changes to your solution and complete additional trial until you feel you have your "best solution".

2. Complete the competition.
