-Today I made a solution of Potassium Chromate-
- Potassium Chromate~ K2Cr2O7
- I made a 0.10M solution of Potassium Chromate. To do this I found the molar mass of potassium chromate. Then I found the number of moles needed in the solution with the molarity and the volume. With the moles and the molar mass I found the exact grams needed to make a 0.10M solution. Then I measured out the solid potassium chromate and dissolved it the the DI water.

- Today we did a precipitation lab.
- There were 11 unknown substances, which we mixed in wells. We observed them and recorded the precipitates that formed. Later we will use this data to figure out which substance is which.

- Today I put a new link in this website. It was for the ideal gas law. We each had a mathematical expression or concept that we had to explain. PV=nRT is the ideal gas law. I explained how to use it and gave an example showing the work. I then gave a seperate example in which i did not show the work but just the answer so they can do it on their own and see if they got the right answer. I also learned how to make a table!

-Today we got into groups of two and chose a lab techinque to demonstrate on a video. My group is making a video on how to zero out a balance.

-Today we worked more on the lab demonstration. We made a poster that we will use on the video.

- Today we continued watching the movie Contact. It was very interesting and we stopped it right before the ball was dropped, leaving us in suspense.
6/9/05
- Today we finished the movie Contact. It was a great movie, the actors did a good job. The moral meaning of the movie was that faith can be intertwined with science. Many people believe that science and faith/ religion cannot exist at the same time. Or they belive that you cannot have religion AND science in your life, that all scientists have no faith and no religion. However this is false because science does not answer all the questions, it cannot answer some of the biggest questions. Science answers the question How? and religion answers the question Why?.
