Precipitation lab

Today I made a .1 molar cobalt chloride solution.
1. First I had to find out how many grams of solute I had to add to water to make 500 ml of .1 molar solution.
2. I found that I needed .05 moles of solute which translates to 4.719 grams.
3. In order to make the solution, I weighed out the grams and put the solid cobalt chloride into a 500 ml flask, and then added water.
4. The solute dissolved quite easily creating a pink solution.
