Buret Cleaning and Reading 
 
 
Overview: 
 
1. Rinse buret with deionized water 
2. Rinse buret with chemical 
3. Attach the buret to the stand 
4. Add the chemical to the buret 
5. Drain the chemical 
6. Rinse buret with the deionized water 
 
 
Steps: 
 
1. Rinse buret with DI water 
:: a. Put a small amount of DI water in the buret, and drain it out of the tip. 
:: b. Close the valve, put more DI water in the buret, and empty it out the top while turning the buret to clean all sides. 
2. Rinse buret with chemical 
:: a. Use the same procedures that were used for the DI water 
3. Attach the buret to the stand 
:: a. Hold the buret upright with the valve on the bottom 
:: b. Attach the buret to the stand with a clamp 
4. Add chemical to the buret 
:: a. Make sure the valve is closed 
:: b. Put some of the chemical into a beaker
