<b>Buret Cleaning and Reading</b><br> <br> <br> <b>Overview:</b><br> <br> 1. Rinse buret with deionized water<br> 2. Rinse buret with chemical<br> 3. Attach the buret to the stand<br> 4. Add the chemical to the buret<Br> 5. Drain the chemical<br> 6. Rinse buret with the deionized water<br> <br> <Br> <b>Steps:</b> <br> <br> 1. Rinse buret with DI water<br> :: <b>a.</b> Put a small amount of DI water in the buret, and drain it out of the tip.<Br> :: <b>b.</b> Close the valve, put more DI water in the buret, and empty it out the top while turning the buret to clean all sides.<Br> 2. Rinse buret with chemical<br> :: <b>a.</b> Use the same procedures that were used for the DI water<br> 3. Attach the buret to the stand<br> :: <b>a.</b> Hold the buret upright with the valve on the bottom<br> :: <b>b.</b> Attach the buret to the stand with a clamp<br> 4. Add chemical to the buret<br> :: <b>a.</b> Make sure the valve is closed<br> :: <b>b.</b> Put some of the chemical into a beaker<br>
