2017 How Much Solution Needed For Sugar Flavor Drink

ChemistryWiki | RecentChanges | Preferences

This lab is the continuation of the 2017 Massing a Specific Numbers of Sugar Molecules in a Sugar Flavor Drink. We want to know how much of a sugar flavor drink (a solution) you will be able to make with the mass of sugar drink you weighed out (or in another way, with a specific number of sucrose molecules). So, you will be using the same Groups and Group letter from the last lab.

First, of course, you will need to know the ratio of sugar flavor drink solid to make a specific volume of solution. That is provided on the container of the sugar flavor drink mix. Since the ratio (we call it Molarity after you make the solution) is no matter what Group you are in, the whole class will need to determine the ratio. There are measuring equipment in the room to determine the mass of solid to volume of solution ratio in order to make the predetermined drink. So, there will be one explanation of how to determined these values (including calculation) for the whole class.

Then, you will use the rest of this page to determine how much solution you can make when the mass you have of the sugar flavor drink. There will be plastic cups and markers to make a reference cup before you actual make "your cup" since you will have to drink the product you make.

You will pass 1 of these pages per Group.
