The students should be able to:
1. Know the name of the subatomic particles in atom, know their location in the atom, charge and relative mass of the subatomic particle.
2. Understand the difference between isotopes of an element including knowing numbers of each subatomic particle.
3. Define and know the Atomic number of each element and where you find it on the Periodic Table.
4. Define and know the Mass number of each isotope of an element.
5. Show the 3 different ways of writing isotopes.
6. Explain what subatomic particle a) define what element it is, b) causes the chemical/physical properties of an element and c) what particle differentiate one isotope from another isotope of the same element.
7. Define Atomic Mass and how it is different from Mass number.
8. Be able to calculate the Atomic mass of an element given isotope information.
