Honors: Book Covering Lab

Directions
1. Using the ruler, determine the height of the book. Record the height on the data table below.
2. Add 2.00cm to both sides of the height of the book to determine the height of the book cover. Show work in calculation section (use appropriate sig fig,etc)
3. Turn the book on its "back", open it up half way. While holding down the book, use a meter stick to determine the entire length of the book including the front cover, binding, and back cover. Record the length on the data table below.
4. Add 5.00cm to sides of the length of the book to determine the length of the book cover. Show work in the calculation section.
5. Cut the paper grocery bag so that you have a large rectangle.
6. Using the ruler and meter stick, measure and then cut the appropriate size for the book cover.
7. Fold over 2.00cm on top and bottom of cover and 5.00cm on left and right side.
8. Put in book and tape (with masking tape) secure.
