Answer the following questions after finishing Law of Conservation of Mass Lab

REMEMBER YOU DO NOT ANSWER QUESTIONS IN SPACE BETWEEN QUESTIONS, ANSWERS NEED TO BE COMPLETED ON SEPARATE SHEET(S) OF PAPER

1. What were the 3 major lab equipment changes you made in your lab. In other words, compare what is stated in the written lab directions and what you actually did (and of course wrote down in your pre-lab notes.)

2. When you added in the solution from the 1st test tube, did a chemical reaction occur and if it did what observation(s) did you write in your data table (that justifies that a reaction did occur)?

3. How many decimal places should all your mass measurements in this lab be to?

4. If you compared the mass before adding 1st test solution to the flask and after the reaction occurs, what was the mass difference? Is that what you expected, explain answer?

5. When you added the 2nd test tube solution to the flask, did a chemical reaction occur and if it did what observation(s) did you write in your data table (that justifies that a reaction did occur)?

6. If you compared the mass before adding 2nd test solution to the flask and after the reaction occurs, what was the mass difference? Is that what you expected, explain answer?

7. Which of the 4 observation of a chemical reaction did not observe either of the above two chemical reactions?

8. The purpose of this lab was to experimental justify the existence of the Law of Conservation of Mass. If you were to change the scale (number of sig figs that scale reads) of the balance, would you use a scale that had more or less decimal places. Explain.

9. Theoretically, the only time you removed any of the equipment from the balance pan was to add the solutions to the flask. Why did you do this instead of taking all the equipment off of the balance, add the chemicals together and then put all the equipment back on the balance pan to weigh it after the reaction? Explain.
