Questions For Making A Concentration Solution And Dilution Lab

ChemistryWiki | RecentChanges | Preferences

There is not enough space between the question for an answer.

1. Explain how the polar solute (C6H12O6) dissolves in a polar solvent (H2O) and draw a picture. Also, as part of your discussion include the resulting material/substance including explanation and a drawing/picture.

2. What would you have to differently if you wanted to make a Molarity (M) solution. In other words, state the steps and any lab equipment you need to form the Molarity solution.

3. Before you diluted the solution, is it unsaturated, saturated or saturated solution with undissociated solute at bottom of container? What steps would you do in the lab to determine which type of solution you had?

4. With respect to the solution, solvent and solute, what is held constant when you dilute a solution? The Molarity of the initial solution is Greater than, Less than or Equal to the Molarity of the resulting solution (after diluting)?

5. If I added oil into the Molality solution, explain in words and a drawing what would happen.
