- Rule 1 : All nonzero are significant
- Rule 2 : Sandwich zeros (zeros between two nonzeros) are significant
- Rule 3 : Before zeros (i.e. zeros before 1st nonzero)
- Value < 1 - Are NOT significant
- Value > 1 - Are Not Significant
- Rule 4 : Trailing Zero (zeros after last nonzero)
- Value < 1 - Are significant
- Value > 1 (as long as value has no decimal component)- Are NOT significant
- Note: If you put the decimal place in value, zeros immediately (meaning only zero no non-zeros are there) to left and to right of decimal become significant.
