Neutralization Calculation Problem Set

Answer the following questions showing all work. You will need to use the space after problems and/or back of sheet (or another sheet).

1. How many liter of a 0.350M sodium hydroxide solution do you need to neutralize 25.0ml of a 0.150M sulfuric acid solution?

2. What is the molarity of 75.0ml of hydrochloric acid that neutralizes 135ml of 0.105M magnesium hydroxide solution?

3. What is the volume (in liters) of a 0.82M hydrobromic acid solution that completely neutralizes 725ml of a 0.45M sodium hydroxide solution?

4. What is the molarity of 10.5ml of a barium hydroxide solution that neutralizes 26.5ml of a 0.425M nitric acid solution.

5. What is the volume of a 0.482M sulfuric acid solution that neutralizes 435ml of a 0.615M aluminum hydroxide solution (assume it is a strong base)?

Answers: 1) 0.0214L or 21.4ml 2) 0.378M 3) 0.40L 4) 0.536M 5) 0.833L
