Directions for lab: 1. Add 1/2 teaspoon of barium hydroxide to a 100 ml beaker. Make (record) observation of chemical. 2. Add 1/2 teaspoon of ammonium chloride to this beaker. Make (record) observation of chemical before adding. 3. Using a large stirring rod, stir until reaction stops. Record observation as you are stirring. Make sure to feel the bottom of the beaker. 4. Clean-up: Dilute all material in the beaker and pour down sink. Put clean beaker in the back of room on the papers near the sinks. Chemical Reaction (We will work on in class): Observations: |

Procedure for lab: |
1. Add 1/2 teaspoon of barium hydroxide ( Ba1(OH)2 (s) ) to a 100 ml beaker. Make (record) observation of chemical. 2. Add 1/2 teaspoon of ammonium chloride ( NH4Cl1 (s) ) to this beaker. Make (record) observation of chemical before adding. 3. Using a large stirring rod, stir until reaction stops. Record observation as you are stirring. Make sure to feel the bottom of the beaker. 4. Clean-up: Dilute all material in the beaker and pour down sink. Then follow regular lab clean-up procedures. |
