1. The true/correct value of the density of water is 1.00g/ml (or whatever numbers of zero you need to use the sig fig as your experimental value). How accurate your answer is can calculated by what we call Percent error.

* Percent error = (error/true value)*100%.
*To calculate error, it is error = experimental value - true value.
*So you will determine error value in Step 2 of the steps to Solving Math Problems in Chemistry and then proceed to find the percent error (following the rest of the steps).
*You will do this twice, once for the graduated cylinder and once for the beaker. You will do these calculations in the Calculations section of the lab and record the results in the Conclusion section of the lab.



2. From the percent errors you generated in the above question, which one had a higher percent error? Explain why.



3. Of the two volume measuring devices, which one is the appropriate one to use if you had to find the density of water again. Explain.



4. Is density a physical or chemical property and why? Is it intensive or extensive property and why? Use experimental information or relate to how you did the lab to answer these questions.
