Waves have three components as follows:

c = speed of light (3.00E8 m/s or 3.00E8 m*Hz)
f = frequency of light as Hz or 1/s where 1 1/s = 1 Hz
lamda (symbol: backwards h, see in example calculations) is wavelength (m or nm)

The components are related by the following: Equation: c = f * lamda

Here is a picture of the two different waves:


So you can see from the picture above, that the frequency and the wavelength are inversely (indirectly) proportional to each other (as one goes up other goes down)
