The students should be able to:<br> <br> 1. Know the name of the subatomic particles in atom, know their location in the atom, charge and relative mass of the subatomic particle.<br> <br> 2. Understand the difference between isotopes of an element including knowing numbers of each subatomic particle.<br> <br> 3. Define and know the Atomic number of each element and where you find it on the Periodic Table.<br> <br> 4. Define and know the Mass number of each isotope of an element.<br> <br> 5. Show the 3 different ways of writing isotopes. <br> <br> 6. Explain what subatomic particle a) define what element it is, b) causes the chemical/physical properties of an element and c) what particle differentiate one isotope from another isotope of the same element.<br> <br> 7. Define Atomic Mass and how it is different from Mass number.<br> <br> 8. Be able to calculate the Atomic mass of an element given isotope information.<br> <br>
