There are three components to light acting like a particle (a discrete package) as follows:
E - energy of light (in J)
h - Planck's constant : 6.60E-34 <nowiki>J/Hz</nowiki>
f - frequency of light as Hz or 1/s

The components are related as follows:
Equation (called Planck Equation, I call it the Energy equation): E = h*f

Planck and the other scientist that believe that energy/light is a particle form what is called Quantum Mechanics. Quantum Mechanics is a different way of looking at the universe that the way we view (called Newtonian or Classical Mechanics). We will deal with this topic in another section.

To see how to do Energy (Planck) Equation problems, click [http://www.tmcleod.org/Level1/Chem328EnergyEquationExamplewithWork.pdf Energy Equation Example showing Work]
**If you want a copy of just the question for the example of work click, [[Example of Energy Equation Problem]]
