Making an Acid
1. Obtain a 100ml beaker and fill with approximately 30ml of DI water.
2. Using your pH probe, record the pH of the DI water.
3. Get a straw and start blowing bubbles in the water. Please keep some of the water in the beaker!!!.
4. After 5min or so, record the pH of the solution again.
Making a Base
1. Obtain a plastic cup and fill approximately 1/2 full of DI water.
2. Using your pH probe, record the pH of the DI water.
3. Add approximately 1/2 teaspoon of solid calcium oxide. Stir
4. After stirring for a few minute to dissolve as much of the solid as possible, record the pH.
