PH Recording Lab

ChemistryWiki | RecentChanges | Preferences

Objective: To use pH indicators (via pH paper) to determine the pH of various solutions

Directions:
1. Go to a station and place the following test strip into the solution one at a time and then record your color observations:
a. Red litmus paper
b. Blue litmus paper
c. pH paper

There is a "Used pH paper strips" container to put the used strips in (Do not leave on bench top)

2. For the pH paper color, use the scale to determine the pH value to the 0.1 place.
3. Use the below data table to record your observations. On a separate sheet(s) of paper, using the pH value obtained from the pH paper reading, you willshow the calculate the other information asked for in the data table. Please show all appropriate work.

[Data Table for pH Reading Lab]i
1. There are 7 stations (or solutions) to measure so you will need to add a two row to the table.
2. There is no column to record red litmus paper and blue litmus paper colors. Please add 2 columns to the table.
