Avogadro's Hypothesis Problem Set

Remember, SHOW MATH EQUATION AND VARIABLES FIRST

1. A gas occupies a volume of 4.15L and contains 0.235moles of gas. If the temperature and pressure is held constant, what is the new volume if gas is added so that there is now 0.872moles of gas?

2. At constant temperature & pressure, a gas has its volume decrease from 5.78L to 2.45L. What is the new number of moles if it started with 1.29moles of gas?

3. A gas occupies a volume of 235ml and 5.23moles of gas in this volume. While holding temperature and pressure constant, what is the new volume if the gas leaks out and you only have 1.05moles of gas left?

Answer: 1) 15.4l 2)0.547mole 3)47.2ml
