Lewis Dot Structure (LDS)
Remember, chemistry is ________________________ (only nuclear chemistry is different)
LDS is a symbolic representation of valence electrons for atoms and grouping of atoms (called groups)
LDS for Elements (and how to draw them):
1) Write symbol of element
2) Put "*" or "x" for each valence electron element has
3) There are 4 imaginary block on the left, right, top and bottom of Element symbol
4) You put one of the "*" or "x"in each block before you put second in any block.
