Using your understanding of these labs and information in your lab notebook, answer the following questions in the space provided.

1.   When you exposed copper (as an ion in solution) to a flame, what color did you see? _______________________.

2.   In either the Flame Test Lab and/or Bright Line Demo, what is the piece of equipment you used to better detect wavelength/frequency/energy of light? ____________________________

3.   From your calculations and/or knowledge of Light/energy/combined equations, how are Energy (E) and Wavelength (λ) related?
a.  Directly
b.  Indirectly ( I call it Inversely)
c.  Is the same numeric value but different units
d.  Need more information to answer question

4.   Why is the Bright Line Spectrum unique to each element?
a.  It represent the mass of the element /atom (and all elements have different masses)
b.  It represents the volume of element/atom (with more lines indicating a larger volume)
c.  It represents the movement of electrons in the element/atom (with each element having a different number of lines/electrons moving)
d.  It is not unique to each element.

5. In the Bright Line Spectra, what does the "black color" mean in between the colored lines you "see".

6. You had two objectives for this lab. Write the 2 conclusions you made from these objectives. When you need to reference the Bright line spectrum from your lab data, describe them in your explanation using the following method, 2 red line, 1 green and 4 blues.
