***Anion - same as cations except non-metals, take in valence e to make negative charge, naming is element name add end add "ide"
***Put them together in specific ratio so net charge is neutral. Subscripts in chemical formula = #ratio of each ion
***Base unit name - actually made up of ions but need both ion represented so call it formula unit
