Objective: You will be making a Poster and a set of phases (or sentences) so that you can memorize the list of subenergy levels (and their orbitals) that is a start to determining the electron configuration of any element.
Directions:
- You will come up with a phase or sentence that you will use to help you (a mnemonic device) memorize the rules for ordering the subenergy/orbital levels from the one closest to the nucleus to the farther subenergy/orbital level.
- Then you will draw a picture of your mnemonic device and then complete the information below (and staple it to the picture).
Grading:
- We will be using the 3 rubrics: DHS Acquire, Integrate and Apply Information Rubric, DHS Collaboration Rubric, DHS Personal Social & Civic Responsibility Rubric (attache sheet) and the Poster Project checklist below.
Poster Project Checklist: Grade:
1. Appearance (understand and clear) __________
2. Correctness (is information correct) __________
3. Creativity of mnemonic device/picture __________
4. Written statement (correct rule(s) and correlation to picture) __________
